About the Department
In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we are demanding creative thinking-oriented education beyond the memorization-oriented education of the past. In addition, it is the duty of today's education to redefine the changed values of life in an era of innovation and infinite competition, and to establish a humanistic life identity and character. Like the left and right wings of a bird, we will create an educational environment where students and schools can unfold harmonious lives and dreams with music and the right character necessary for the world. Music majors pursue the pure artistry of music, and our department cultivates competent musicians with humanistic qualities by studying and honing its methodology. The curriculum focuses on practical education, and in order to become accustomed to the atmosphere of an ensemble that music students must live, chorus and ensemble are offered every semester, and opportunities such as regular concerts and collaborations are provided to greatly improve the quality of both theory and practice.

Major Course Guide
Year 1 │ Basic Theory
Students will study the characteristics of chords, relationships between chords, key signatures, and the characteristics and relationships between chordal and non-chordal sounds that form the basis of music. Furthermore, students will analyze and study musical pieces harmonically.
Year 2 │ Harmony
With harmony, we'll build on the theory students have mastered in first year by taking as practical an approach as possible to expand their understanding of Romantic harmony and musical breadth.
Year 3 │ Music Format
Study and analyze the forms and styles of music from the Baroque to the Romantic periods to help performers interpret pieces and to give composers the opportunity to experience different forms of music.
Year 4 │ New Media Music and Performing Arts Capstone Design
Based on digital media, we plan and develop contents that can be applied to the current market by examining the current trends of the cultural industry, changes in the industrial structure, and consumer characteristics, and cultivate field experience in advance to foster talents who can be put into the field immediately after graduation. We cultivate integrated music business design capabilities by setting specific and feasible ideas and goals, collecting and analyzing data, and cultivating practical skills based on knowledge and theory.
Academic Activities
Music majors are required to practice their skills outside of class time, so it is difficult to organize clubs. However, students gather together to perform, and although the department does not have a club, it can be said that the students themselves are doing club activities.
Departmental Talent
- Passionate and creative in everything they do
- Someone who loves, loves, loves, loves music
